Christmas Ski Trip!!

Don't worry that it is January 9th and I am just getting around to my Christmas activities!  It is a good example of my life....always running behind.

Two days after Christmas we flew up to Utah to go skiing.  I was somewhat reluctant because we had to leave beautiful Arizona weather to enter FREEZING Utah Snow.  December is the wrong time to visit Utah, unless you are a cold weather creature.  I know I grew up there, but I have lived away too long and it is just a little much for me.  Kevin and Max were excited about skiing and snowboarding and I was along for the ride.  Amy, Scot and Zack decided to go at the last minute so we all boarded a plane headed for snow!
Well needless to say.....it was FREEZING!  I don't remember ever being so cold and miserable on the slopes.  I prefer spring skiing and sipping hot chocolate in the Lodge!  We were all brave and gritted our teeth to get several good runs down the slopes.  I can say that it was fun to see it snow.  I haven't seen that in a really long time.  I had to be the first one in the Lodge to warm my freezing fingers, however.  In spite of the cold......we took some candid pictures in the snow!
All in all we had a really fun time skiing, eating and visiting the family.  I don't get to see them very often.  Alice and Steve invited the whole family over for dinner.  That is always fun.  We can see everyone in one visit.  I miss seeing the family grow up.  Since my kids and grandkids all live down here in Arizona with us, we don't get to be in on many family happenings.  The price of living away!

Needless to say, we're happy to be enjoying the weather in warm, sunny AZ!  What a difference!!!

Christmas Quilt Day

What a great day!  Monday was our annual Christmas Quilt Party.  For those of you who are not aware, I belong to a quilt group with about 11 other wonderful ladies.  We meet once a month to laugh, eat and sew on our various projects.  Well, this month we had our Christmas Party.  It is so fun to get together and exchange gifts.  This year we drew names.  The rule was that we had to make our gift for the person we drew.  It is always tough to decide what to do.  There are so many talented people in my group.  It took much deliberation on my part to come up with something worthy.  Too bad I forgot to take a picture of my creation!  But.......Marae Harris (my fun, talented friend) drew my name.  I was so excited because I knew she would come up with something fab!  I was not disappointed.  Her gift was beautiful!  The picture does not do it justice.  The quilting on my NOEL wallhanging is beautiful.  What a TREAT!  She is a talented friend!  Thanks Marae..

Late Night Blogging

Well, it is 11:00 p.m. on Friday night.  We just finished watching the Sun's game (of course they won!)  I forgot about my Blog and told Amy to fix it up while we were watching the Sun's game.  I was thinking I had a blog out there in cyberspace and no one had read it and I had forgotten that I set it up.  Sooooooo Amy came up with a new name for me "Boyer Scribbles"  cute huh?  So I think that name will stick.  My next task is to get my blog out there so I can start having some fun.  So, hopefully some of my fellow bloggers will take time to get me started!

I am waiting to go pick up Kevin from his friend's house.  They are sitting in his hot tub because they have been skim boarding tonight in the retention basin.   It is a little chilly here and believe it or not....it is raining here and that means that the retention basins fill up with water.  So the new sport is to get skim boards and "skim" along the edge of the water.  They are having a blast!  The new sport in the neighborhood.  On the flip side....Amy and I are in front of a fire doing out Christmas cards.  How fun is that!

New Blogger On The Block!

I am not very computer savvy.......My kids make fun of me for my horrible attempts at trying to be a computer Mom. So here is my great attempt at joining the world of computer bloggers! Amy (my daughter) decided to set up a blog for me tonight. It took a family council to decide what to call my blog. Here were some of the suggestions....from Max: Just call it "Debbie" (how creative is that! He was rediculed accordingly!) From Kevin: "Nana by day...Quilter by night" Everyone laughed at his quick wit! Of course I had to nix that one right away. Who wants a granny name? Amy on the other hand had a few suggestions....."Gab Girl," "Material Girl," "Deb's Thoughts," and on and on. That is why I have a lame name for my Blog, no one could decide.....so the purpose of this post is to ask any readers.....what should I name my blog....keep in mind that it has to be "creative" and "cute" I am putting the pressure on.....I will take all suggestions. Keep reading for the future suggestions from others. Then I will let you all vote!!!!!! Help me out now and welcome me to the blogging world! Thanks all
