Don't worry that it is January 9th and I am just getting around to my Christmas activities! It is a good example of my life....always running behind.
Two days after Christmas we flew up to Utah to go skiing. I was somewhat reluctant because we had to leave beautiful Arizona weather to enter FREEZING Utah Snow. December is the wrong time to visit Utah, unless you are a cold weather creature. I know I grew up there, but I have lived away too long and it is just a little much for me. Kevin and Max were excited about skiing and snowboarding and I was along for the ride. Amy, Scot and Zack decided to go at the last minute so we all boarded a plane headed for snow!
Well needless to say.....it was FREEZING! I don't remember ever being so cold and miserable on the slopes. I prefer spring skiing and sipping hot chocolate in the Lodge! We were all brave and gritted our teeth to get several good runs down the slopes. I can say that it was fun to see it snow. I haven't seen that in a really long time. I had to be the first one in the Lodge to warm my freezing fingers, however. In spite of the cold......we took some candid pictures in the snow!
All in all we had a really fun time skiing, eating and visiting the family. I don't get to see them very often. Alice and Steve invited the whole family over for dinner. That is always fun. We can see everyone in one visit. I miss seeing the family grow up. Since my kids and grandkids all live down here in Arizona with us, we don't get to be in on many family happenings. The price of living away!

Needless to say, we're happy to be enjoying the weather in warm, sunny AZ! What a difference!!!
