Riley's Day

This one is a biggy. I am posting this prematurely, but I consider this Riley's birthday celebration. We spent last Monday Night together for Riley's eighth birthday. Even though it was an early shindig....due to summer vacations.....we did not let it pass unnoticed. We had a dinner/swim party, gifts, dessert, and a cousin sleepover.

The birthday gift this year was a hit! Thanks to Julie's recommendation and some helpful hints we scored. I put together a "Nancy Drew Sleuth Kit". Yeah...it worked! The theme for the rest of the night was "Nancy Drew" at her best. The little detectives spent the night looking for clues (with binoculars, flashlights and walkie talkies) that invovled anything that was amiss in the neighborhood. Grandpa even hid some clues of his own. I just watched and giggled! Oh the imagination those girls have! I now have received "Nancy Drew" requests from other grandchildren for future birthday gifts! It was a Hit!

Earlier, I took Riley shopping and to lunch for her birthday. This year the grandkids get to pick out a new pair of shoes. Can I say that it has been so much fun. I loved Riley's choice....she received a couple of compliments from strangers as we walked the mall. Very fashionable!

The night ended with a cousin sleepover/movie/popcorn event! All eligible little girls snuggled in their sleeping bags in front of "Because of Winn Dixie"....a night to remember! I love my little kiddos! We look forward to Riley's baptism in August. She is the oldest grandchild and is a sweet example of all of us.

As a side note....these little girls thrive on each other's company. They play endlessly together. It has been so much fun to have these girls so close in age. They are such good little friends. I'm hoping it stays that way! (Notice little Lucy's twirly skirt? Julie....have you visited Material Girls???? I need to get sewing....Kate is next!)

A Look At Lucy's 3rd Birthday!

Today was Lucy's 3rd birthday. I adore that little girl....her sweet brown eyes and shy little smile. We spent a little time together this morning. I took her to the Mall to ride the Merry-Go-Round. My big mistake...I fogot my camera! So just imagine our fun time together! We stopped for some gumballs and a Paradise Bakery Cookie.

I had some fun making her a "Twirly, Girly Skirt" that I saw at Material Girls (my favorite quilting stop!) Lucy loves to wear skirts...so I thought it would be fun to sew one up. I also finished a little apron I had started at Christmas for her and just ran out of time! Lucy's other present was a bit of a gamble. Lucy's Mom had mentioned that she might like a remote control car. Well....we gave it a try. I think it was a hit! All her presents don't have to be "Girly!"

Lucy had a fun party with her family tonight. Lots of presents and a Tinkerbell Birthday Cake. Lucy is a bit shy, but loves to do everything her big sisters do. She is cuddly and sweet.....one of my favorite little girls!

Lucy wanted a jewelry box for her Birthday. Her Mom and Dad gave her one with a necklace and CTR Ring inside!

Happy Birthday Lucy...I Love You

Happy Birthday Amy

Well it is another Boyer birthday! The last but not the least. Amy (aka Jarv, Jarvis, The Jarvinator) turns 26 years old today. Amy is so petite, wears a size 12 (kids) and looks like she is 15. She is often mistaken for Zack's sibling instead of his mother!

The thing I admire most about Amy is her motherly skills. She is an extraordinary Mom. I have never heard her complain or raise her voice at Zack. She is constant and ongoing every single day as she takes care of Zack's every need. Zack is a lucky little guy and Amy adores him. She is devoted! She never trys to hand off the duty even though it would be convenient because she lives with me. Yes, that is appreciated, although I love to spoil Zack.

Amy is always happy and talkative. We all know she cannot just give the Reader's Digest version of anything. When you start a conversation with Amy, you are in for the long haul (he he he) She will talk, give her opinion whether you want it or not and then re-tell the whole situation. There is no loss of words when she is around. She always kind of giggles when she talks....it's nice to live with a happy person.

Amy is Kevin's second mom. Kevin probably won't admit it (maybe he will) but he loves having Amy and Scot live here. It adds a little drama and company to this dull household with just mom and dad always around. Kevin's friends love Amy and she loves to get into his business.
Amy is always in the middle when Kevin's friends are over......trying to see what they have been up to......what advice she can give them and most of all who their latest crush is. She is a meddler! Kevin loves it. Well, yes Amy is a good example for Kevin and she expects him to tow the line. I love that...I need all the help I can get and Amy certainly fills in for me when I am just the "old" mom!

Amy is so talented. Besides taking care of Zack everyday, she works part time from home with some close friends trying to get a business off the ground. These friends rely on her to do all the computer design work. She is really great on that keyboard. My neighbors and ward members are always after her to do their flyers, invitations, YW programs and any computer-type stuff they can't handle. Amy does it in half the time....she is good to have around. She has taught me this blogging thing while she is living here. I am still not good....but much better and still learning.

So these are a few thing I love about Amy
*She is always happy
*She has a great smile...lots of teeth!
*She takes a real interest in what Kevin does and doesn't do
*I think she will take care of me when I am drooling on myself at 80
*She has tiny feet
*She finally gets the family and church thing for real
*She is Max's personal shopper....so I reap the benefits
*She has a pretty positive attitude
*She is the greatest mom...which means I will have great grandkids
*She is the Jarv!

Happy Birthday Amy.....we all love you to death!

Happy Birthday Maxy

We have so many birthdays in May. It is a tough month to get through! Didn't someone think of this when we started having babies??????

Anyway.....Happy Birthday Max!! You are a great husband, father and grandfather. Max and Ryan flew to Newport today for a full day of meetings so we did not get to celebrate properly. A lot of the people in the Ward filled his e-mail box with so many loving, kind, sweet messages for his birthday. They love their Bishop! We love him too! Have a great birthday!

Happy Birthday Maddie 2008!

Maddie (aka Mad-dog) turned five years old on April 10th! Yes, I know I am behind on my blogging, but better late than never. I can't forget cute Maddie.

Each year I try to think of something special I can do with my grandkids. They have to be a certain age to make it work......but this year I decided I would take my granddaughters to get pedicures on their birthdays. I was out of town on Maddie's birthday, so when I returned we headed to get our toes painted!

First, we had to have some lunch. I let Maddie pick the place she wanted to go. She decided she wanted a hot dog....so we went to Tasty Joes! They make a pretty good hot dog for those who are interested! Actually, it got pretty crowded when we were there so I guess that speaks for good food. I resisted....but Maddie enjoyed a great hot dog with fries.

We had a great pedicure. I know Maddie has had one before, but it was so cute to see her in that big pedicure chair getting the whole treatment. Sometimes her little legs were not long enough to reach the end and she had to lay back! I had fun watching. She chose some pink polish, but didn't want to have any flowers painted on her toes. You go Maddie!

After our toe painting, we stopped in at Dippin Dots to get a little treat! Those little dots are so good! She was all smiles. That little Maddie is the best!

Things I love about Maddie:
*Her beautiful blue eyes
*She has the best hair out of all those little Boyer girls!
*She always wears her goggles in the pool. She is famous!
*She is such a sweet sister
*She is a great soccer player
*She is determined
*She is a finger-sucker!!!! (most determined yet!)
*She likes to be at home with Mom
*She has the cutest little freckles on her nose!

Love you Maddie!
