FUN!!! This year's family vacation in Newport was especially memorable. The weather was perfect and the company was a blast! We love having Shelley and Jason join us. Really.....there is nothing better than sitting on the beach with all the kids, taking in all the sites,(and there are many) eating treats, donut runs, drinking Diet Coke and laughing! Here is our vacation in pictures....with a few remarks!
The rage this year for the grandkids (especially Emma) was catching Starfish. They would walk out on the rocky jetty and find them between the rocks. Emma was the "Chief"
A pretty sweet relationship developed between these two little kiddos. They became pretty inseparable during our Newport trip. "Goose and Drewby"
Every single morning we rode our bikes to the pier and ate donuts on the boardwalk. This is a tradition and the kids LOVE it. They have a big gumball machine in the doorway of the donut shop and every morning the kids have a gumball for breakfast! Sweet!
This year we discovered "Beach Volleyball" (especially the guys!). I'm wondering why we haven't done this sooner. The net has always been there by our house....go figure. Kevin, Beau and Dallin just started playing with a group of girls that were on the beach court and then we all kicked in! We played for hours and even had spectators!
Our whole trip is spent on the beach. Sunning and playing in the water. The kids go from the beach.... to the water.... to the hot tub on the top of our condo and then back to the beach. Shelley and Jason's family add to the fun. The beach is full of curious people on the sand and in the water. This year Jason started a head stand contest on the beach....What??? All participated, but the pictures are not fit to put on the blog.....to many scantily clad bodies standing on our heads. McCall led the pack with her "fit" headstand and taught us all the techniques. Jason nailed it pretty good after much practice!

A surprise for next year? Hmm...please don't make me wait a whole year. I will begin my snooping during your next vacay.
Thanks for an awesome trip!
What's the surprise? Maybe it's us not coming... We had so much fun! The contest will continue next year. I will learn my pull-up. Thanks for making it fun!
Ahhhh. . . what a lovely trip down memory lane. I wish we had gotten more volleyball pictures. . . like maybe one of the SINGLE good play I made the whole week. Yeah, I was pretty lame. I guess I better get my v-ball skills fine tuned along with my headstands. Thanks for a great week!
P.S. That picture of Jason in his short swimsuit will haunt me for a whole year!
Ahhh...that vacation looks fun! What a great crowd you have!
