Aloha

Hawaii....A quick trip. Amy and Scot had a very sudden opportunity for a fast trip to Hawaii for Scot's work. A little phone call and I found myself planning and packing for a week in Hawaii to keep Amy and Zack company while Scot worked round the clock!

I am not one to travel, especially over the ocean, so I just had to close my eyes and go. I arrived in Honolulu safe and sound, on my own, trying to find out where to go.

Amy, Zack and I had a great time exploring the island on a limited budget and limited time. Those 2-year-olds will slow you down!

We decided to take it easy and do some things that Zack would enjoy as well. We had a list of sites and things we wanted to do with the time we had. I think my favorite thing was driving up to the North Shore and then continuing around the island. It was beautiful! Honolulu is a bit commercial, the place to go if you want to shop! I prefer the quiet side!

At the North Shore for our favorite "Sub Sandwiches!"

By far the "Favorite" ..... Shave Ice at Matsumoto

We had a visit to the Beach almost everyday. The weather was perfect and Zack loved to play in the sand and water....an easy decision for a happy 2-year-old!

We shopped and walked Wakiki Beach everyday. It was always crowded and people watching was a must! There were so many stores, people, surfers, street performers and wierdos all in one place!

The most memorable thing we did was visit Waimea Bay. The beach was beautiful! The waves were fun to watch. The Lifeguards would not let Zack play at the edge of the water because the waves were breaking too close to the shore. They were pretty strong! We got brave and took the hike to Waimea Falls with Zack. We made it slow, but sure! It was well worth it....it was absolutely beautiful!

Are these the most beautiful pictures?? This is what I expect Hawaii to look like!

The water was cold...but I could not pass up the temptation to swim by the falls!

We took a little trip to the Aquarium that was close by. Zack was in heaven! So much to see for this little guy! I have to say there were a few incredible fish swimming around.

Driving on the other side of the island was beautiful....I wanted to stay and stare! It was quiet and serene. We stopped to take a few pictures at random locations and took some as we drove in the car.

These trees were all over the island. They were huge...they remind me of Tarzan trees because they have vines hanging from them that you could swing from!

A nice ending to a great vacation....food, of course!

We had such a great time together. Love you Amy Scot and Zack!
