How Sweet Is That?
Sweet Success! We had a baby shower for Amy and her new "Little Sissy" on Thursday night at my home, in my backyard, with beautiful weather, serving an abundance of "sweets", attended by sweet friends and family.
Here's the real deal....it was ALOT of work!!! I'm getting too old for these things! But certainly I can say I had a great time putting it on. Lindsey, Julie, Heidi (my sweet neighbor) & Carrie (Amy's sweet friend) Marae (a sweet quilt friend) all came together to assist for a fun night of food and friends!
Here's the evening in pictures....with a little comment here and there!
While surfing the internet, I ran across a little tutorial on diaper cakes. For some reason I felt up to the challenge. I gotta say it was kind of fun to make this little goodie. We used it for a centerpiece.
Thanks Heidi!
YUMMY TREATS!
This deserves a mention. These are all Amy's High School Friends....and they are all expecting within weeks of each other.
Amy just moved into a new neighborhood in January. All of these fun friends live on her same street! Now really....who could ask for better neighbors. They are all darling...and young!
Thanks goes out to my family for sending a "financial donation" to help pull this party off! It was a BIG help!
We had so much fun putting together this little party for Amy before she has her "sweet" new little girl. She's coming quickly.....this Thursday. I can't wait to see the new Gregory addition. Good luck Amy!

Just A Little Quilt Talk
Everyone came this month. That is worth mentioning since I have missed the last two months myself! The challenge is cramming everyone into your house with their own personal space! That in and of itself is a challenge. Enough of the small talk......here are the quilts we had to share!
Kim finished her quilt! This was a project we did as a quilt group...to be done in March! We used the pattern by American Jane called Merry-Go-Round. Have I started mine??? Nope! Kim used the fabric line "Charisma." Darling quilt, don't you think?
This is a baby quilt that I made for my daughter's new little boy. The pattern is called "A" You're Adorable by Thimble Blossoms. It was so fun to make. I used "Recess" and "Wee Play" fabric lines. Yes, I think it is adorable!
Heidi made this "oh so cute" table topper from Charm Packs of "Baskets of Flowers" by Mary Engelbreit. Some nice person gave her the charm packs for her birthday...hehehehe. Anyways, it turned out so cute, especially with that little ruffle. I will be taking lessons from her very shortly!
This project needs some talk. Mareen is making "The Gatherings Quilt". Okay....I will not be making this! It is gorgeous and time consuming. Debbie Jensen, Michelle and Becky have already tackled this quilt. We love the black and tan fabric combination that Mareen chose. It is stunning in person (photography never gives justice) We can't wait to see the finished project. I know for a fact Mareen is really workin' on this one! Beautiful!
Marae finished this quilt while sewing at quilt group. Again...photography does no justice. This quilt is absolutely adorable. We love the bright cute pattern. The fabric is especially fun. I have not seen it in the quilt store....but what do I know???? She bought it as a quilt kit and away she went!!! Love it!
Heidi has to conform to requests!! Her neice is getting married and wants a yellow and grey quilt! That is a bit difficult people! But....this is an amazingly cute piece of work! I think it will turn out stunning. Stars make a difference! Who would have thought? Great job Heidi!
This is one of my favorite quilts ever! A few of us have made this one. Carol is just finishing hers and I love, love, love it! Part of it is just the stars....I love stars, but it is also a very fun quilt to sew. Especially because you can use all your scraps! This is a quilt designed by one of Marae's friends....is it Cotton Way? A beautiful quilt, Carol.
We had a fun lunch that included a couple of new recipes for salads, some oven sandwiches, and fresh strawberries with fruit dip. The weather was beautiful for an outside lunch on the patio and the company was divine!
We all had a great time....Thanks for coming ladies....until next month at Kim's House!!! Sew On!
A side note....I will post the recipes I used in a couple of days! I have to study for my Relief Society Lesson for Sunday!!!!

Tanner's Quilt
Well, here it is.....my little quilt for Tanner, my newest grandson. I love to use the old-fashioned retro fabric when I make my baby quilts. I am pretty much addicted to that kind of "look." I hope my girls have a liking to it!
I saw this pattern at "Material Girls"....a favorite quilt shop. Unfortunately, it is located in Utah and I don't have much of a chance to get up there. So when I go.....it is exhilarating!! I bought the pattern and fabric ("Wee Play" and "Recess" by Sandy Klopp) with the intention of making it for Tanner. It kinda looks like a little boy quilt....don't you think? It was fun and satisfying to sit and "create"....ohhhh it is such a stress reliever!
This is the back of Tanner's quilt. I love to personalize my quilts....funky backs you know! However, I am running out of things to say! This is #9 grandchild and my brain is having trouble with the continuous "cuteness" factor!
Suffice it to say......I love my little guy! We are so happy to have him in our family. We are running a little short on boys!

Belated Birthday Boy...The Scoobs
I missed it...I blew it....I messed up....I've been scolded!!! Little Zack's birthday was not posted properly! We know he is not forgotten! Nana always has time issues! I admit it.....there is only so much time in a day. But....let that not stand in the way of a Scoobs Birthday Blog Post! Happy Belated Birthday little Zack!
Zack is known far and wide in this household. We are well acquainted with him. He has lived with me longer than he has lived in any other home....Hmmmmm. I should claim him as my own! In just a few words, he is the cutest little bug ever!
Let me just say he came into this world looking like he was already grown up! That has not changed as he is now 2-years-old. He talks very well, he can ride a razor like the best of them....fast and skilled. (It is quite amazing!) He is quite coordinated for a little guy. I am waiting to see if he will be the soccer star, the baseball star, or maybe the computer whiz?? He is able to make choices after thinking through his options given my his mom. It is fun to watch him choose...and be happy with his choice (most of the time). He is amazingly social for his age. When he sees me he says "Hi Nans"...just so matter of fact. When he sees Kevin its......"Hi Kev-Dog!"
For his birthday I took him to ride the carousel at Superstition Mall and he "freaked out!" He was afraid to get on any animal to ride....instead he wanted the gumball machine. Surprise! Go figure....We had a few gumballs!
He likes to run, wrestle, hold his doggie, jump on the trampoline, race, swim, have treats instead of eating his dinner and just play with someone beside him. I am waiting to see his reaction to his new little sister, due in just a couple of weeks. That might be a new experience since he is use to have all the attention!
It was an absolute joy to have Zack live with us. He certainly brought some action into this household. We loved watching him grow up right under our noses!
