A Memorable Memorial Day 2008

Happy Memorial Day!

Memorial Day in Arizona is usually hot and sticky. We lucked out this year and had the most beautiful weather ever! We had a cold crunch on the weekend but by Monday it was perfect. Not too hot and not too cold. The kind of weather you can sit outside and enjoy!

We had a big Memorial Day get-together planned with all the kids and grandkids....a neighbor or two and Scot's family from California. We had a blast swimming and eating all day long!

Some of the fun times:

Drew loved these battery-operated fish that swam in the water

The only two little boys in this family of girls, girls, girls!

Sophie finally has her first swim in the pool

Ryan Boyer is famous for making up goofy games (or dances). He made up this fun relay in the pool for all of us. You had to jump on the raft at one end of the pool paddle down to the end, making sure the raft touched the side, then paddle back for the next person to go. (That's kinda normal, I guess!) The clincher was that you had to carry one of the kids on your back as you paddled as fast as you could! We laughed so hard......there were a couple of people that had a pretty hard time with the whole concept (we won't mention any names) Unfortunaltely, we have no pictures. We ran the relay again with just the adults. The two strongest swimmers below!

We always have a ruthless water basketball game at all pool parties. For sure it really gets rough......hair pulling, scratching, pinching....anything goes. There is no mercy!

The girls loved playing seahorses under the fountains

A break for popscicles.....weird that everybody wanted orange?

All in all a great day!
